Playground Safety

CPSC’s public playground guidelines are detailed here and are intended to help parks, schools, installers and others choose the safest equipment. Many local jurisdictions have incorporated this handbook into their building codes.

This consumer safety performance specification provides safety and performance standards for various types of public playground equipment and dimensional requirements for their clearance and use zones. Its purpose is to reduce life-threatening and debilitating injuries.
